This site was a promotional website for the launch of Julia Heywood’s first book, ‘The Barefoot Indian’. The book is based on a woman who responds to a job advert. The website was designed to look like a job board, which had the very same job advert on it. You had the opportunity to read the first two chapters of the book and then, if you liked it, purchase the book.

To end up with a really good website you have to find and be able to work with a rare breed of person; someone who is a ‘computer boffin’, but who is also gifted in graphic design. To find such a person is not an easy thing to do.

I met with many people who referred to themselves as web designers and I found that they were either technically competent but lacking in creative vision or, they had creative vision but lacked technical competence. And then I found Ben Goodyear who ticked all the boxes that I was looking for.
